What we do

A scan mesh records surfaces; it is not automatically a production-ready model. True Axis reconstructs intentional geometry, features and relationships so the result can be reviewed, modified and manufactured where appropriate.

The approach

Practical detail.
Clear next steps.

01

Capture the evidence

Use 3D scanning, physical measurement, drawings and functional context to understand the component.

02

Rebuild design intent

Reconstruct features as controlled CAD rather than simply wrapping a surface around raw scan data.

03

Prepare to manufacture

Resolve critical interfaces, review decisions and create drawings or replacement components to scope.

Project workflow

A connected process.

Engage True Axis for one stage or carry the project through the complete workflow.

  1. 01

    Physical part

Supply the available component, sample or legacy data.

  2. 02

    Scan + measure

Capture complex surfaces and critical dimensions.

  3. 03

    CAD reconstruction

    Rebuild clean, editable design geometry.

  4. 04

    Design review

Confirm interfaces, wear allowances and intent.

  5. 05

    Documentation

    Prepare manufacturing data as required.

  6. 06

    Replacement part

Manufacture the recreated component where required.

Project inputs + outputs

Useful detail, without making you solve the engineering first.

Upload the information you already have. True Axis reviews geometry, application, interfaces and inspection needs before confirming scope.

You can start with
  • The physical component
  • Photos and known dimensions
  • Its mating parts or assembly context
  • How it works, failed or must change
Agreed outputs may include
  • Captured geometry and measurement evidence
  • Clean, editable reconstructed CAD
  • Manufacturing drawings where required
  • A replacement-part pathway where appropriate

Frequently asked

01Is a 3D scan the final CAD model?

Usually not. A scan is measured surface evidence. Production-ready CAD typically requires deliberate reconstruction of features, interfaces and design intent.

02Can a worn or damaged part be recreated?

Potentially. Wear, damage and missing features need engineering interpretation, measurement and context from the assembly before geometry is confirmed.

03Do you need the mating components?

They are often useful. Interfaces, mounting points and functional clearances can matter as much as the visible shape of the part itself.
